- Clare & Ben Wedding Day at Mere Court Hotel in Knutsford
On a perfectly warm and sunny spring day, Clare & Ben surrounded by their friends and family at The Mere Court Hotel in Knutsford promised to love, honour, and cherish for the rest of their lives and sealed their devotion with a kiss, which was heralded as the beginning of something new. Together. They hosted a stunning wedding filled with love, laughter, and happiness. Clare and Ben thank you for inviting me to document your first day as wife and husband. Much Appreciation and Love… M I wanted to share a handful of images from their big day and tell a bit more about their special day. In Clare and Ben's own words, here is their story, so take a look below, and enjoy... How did you meet? We first met on the dating app Tinder. I was staying with family in Bolton when I first saw Clare from Knutsford’s beautiful smile and I thought she’d be a lovely person to get to know, so I ‘swiped right’ and it wasn’t long before she must have thought the same about me and we ‘matched’! We texted for a couple of weeks until next time I was over that way and I called her up to arrange our first date which took place at Costa coffee in Altrincham on 5th May 2014. Tell me more about your engagement, when and how this happened? We got engaged on the 7th April 2018 at the Harry Potter Studios, underneath the big model of Hogwarts castle. I’d been planning it for a while and we had both booked to go there quite a long time beforehand but Clare had no idea it was going to happen there! The ring arrived the day before we went (thankfully), and I was thinking about it the whole way round...i knew where I wanted to do it but the model isn’t until the very end of the tour. Anyway, she was quite emotional when we got to the model of Hogwarts even before I’d said anything...we are both big Harry Potter fans, and seeing the castle is quite a magical moment. So at the right moment I asked her if she had enjoyed her magical adventure, then I got down on one knee and asked her if she wanted to start another one with me! She said yes!! How long did you plan your wedding? We got married 9 days before the 1 year anniversary of our engagement (29th March 2019), so we had planned it for very nearly a year. What made you choose your wedding venue? Mere Court Hotel was only the second venue we visited and we loved it from the moment we saw it. Everything felt right, the staff were really friendly and the place and the grounds just looked stunning. What was your favourite part of your wedding day? Our favourite part was standing in front of all our friends and family, knowing each and every person who was sat there and saying ‘I do’ to each other. The vows, the readings and the words the registrar read out at the end of the ceremony were perfect. What was your first dance song? It was a trio of songs from Back to the Future (another of our favourite movies). Started with Earth Angel by Harry Waters Jr and Marvin Berry, followed by Johnny B. Goode by Chuck Berry and finally The power of love by Huey Lewis and the News! A six minute masterpiece mixed together by me! haha! Would you like to say a special thank you to somebody who helps you make your wedding day perfect? We would both like to say a special thank you to our parents, without whom it would not have been possible. They were all so generous and helpful throughout the whole process and were so glad to see them all as happy as we were on the day. We would also like to thank Sarah at The Petal Shop in Lymm for her amazing floral creations that decorated our day so beautifully, and to the staff at Mere Court, particularly Megan Clarke for being our wedding coordinator and for making everything run so smoothly. Finally we want to thank you for being there and capturing the whole day! We can’t wait to see the photos and can’t ever thank you enough for being so relaxed, happy and helpful throughout, it really put us both at ease. I always feel awkward getting my picture taken but you made it very easy, even telling me where to put my hands when they were doing something strange! Clare would particularly like to thank you for being patient, and guiding us through the group photos on the day! The Ballad of Ben and Clare It was early twenty four-teen I downloaded Tinder on my phone After moving in to Chesterfield My first flat on my own It showed me lots of pictures Of women in the area Most resembled Chewbacca Some were even hairier So I changed my distance preferences And looked further afield And I noticed Clare from Knutsford Whose smile instantly appealed It turned out that she liked me too She kicked things off with ‘hi’ I think I wrote for 15 minutes And sent an essay in reply And that’s how things continued For the first couple of weeks Until May the 4th when we first spoke And planned the next day to meet At a coffee shop in Altrincham Somewhere public, somewhere safe Just in case she was a lunatic And I could easily escape But I really didn’t need to She was lovely from the start With her smiley face and bubbliness A potential counterpart We’ve had lots of dates and lots of plates To many places we’ve skidaddled Like to Islay for the whiskey Or our first Valentines at Swythamley Chapel I’ve seen Paris and Croatia, I’ve seen Barcelona too, I’ve seen Belgium, I’ve seen Italy And all of it with you You’ve really made me happy You’re my best friend, now my wife I can’t wait for more adventures I’ll love you all my life #weddinginKnutsford #weddingphotographerinBury #WeddingPhotographyCheshire #weddingatMereCourt
- Top 5 Beaches in the North West England
Formby Beach, Merseyside Conserved by The National Trust, Formby Beach has to be seen to be believed. With fine sand, dramatic dunes and fringed by pine trees, it offers endless space, so even on busy days the beach won’t feel too overcrowded. There’s not an awful lot here other than sea and sand so come well prepared with picnic, bucket and spade and all your other beach essentials. It’s also a good idea to bring a windbreak or tent to protect you from the elements, as there is little shade to be found once you’re on the beach and it can get very windy. Don’t miss a walk through the stunning woodland; just one of the few places in the UK where you might see endangered red squirrels. Parking costs £6 (Cash only) or is free with a National Trust membership. For more information visit https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/formby St. Bees Beach A beautiful beach with pebbles, sand and rock pools. There is a short walk along a concrete path to the south but far better is to make the climb up on to St Bees Head and look out on to a spectacular, vicious Irish Sea to the north and west. Nice play park above the beach ideal for kids and an area to exercise dogs. For more information visit http://www.stbees.org.uk/facilities/beaches.html St Anne's Beach, Lytham St Anne's, Lancashire St Anne’s offers all you could want for a day trip to the seaside with plenty of activities for small children and a vast sandy beach, which at low tide seems to go on forever. The Victorian Pier provides a stunning backdrop to this traditional resort and has all the usual amusements, shops and food places. A lot of money has been invested into revamping this place and it really does show. We spent a lovely spring day here earlier this year, with a picnic on the beach, paddling, trampolines, miniature train, adventure playground and a free splash pool around the bandstand – which we couldn’t get our toddler out of! Ample parking and if you can get a space on the road, there’s no charge. Exceeded all expectations. For more information visit www.visitlythamstannes.co.uk Ainsdale Beach, Merseyside This is such a vast expanse of beach. So big, in fact that there’s even a car park on the sand! If you fancy a paddle it’s quite a long walk down to the shoreline (5 minutes) but kids generally love the open space, soft sand and beach game potential, plus it has some remarkable dunes, which form part of a nature reserve. Not much else here other than a snack bar, ice cream van and toilet facilities, but that’s one of its merits. If you want a little more action head over to nearby Southport for its Victorian charm, boating lake, model railway and funfair. For more information visit www.visitsouthport.com West Kirby Beach West kirby is always a good place to visit plenty of walks on the sand dunes and red rocks as well as the beach Wonderful any time of the year different scenery ever time. Beautiful views over the Dee estuary to North Wales and Hilbre island. Sand, dunes, walkways .... - Best photo locations in Manchester and around Manchester
A spectacular range of architectural styles makes Manchester a great location for photo shoots. Modern, Contemporary, Georgian, Roman and Gothic, Manchester has it all. Manchester is one of the most vibrant cities in England, throbbing with creativity, full of interesting architecture and home to possibly the most famous football club in the world. There truly is something for everyone in this industrial city – and we promise that it doesn’t always rain! There are many reasons to visit Manchester but as a photographer, I always look for the best spots to take photos. I photographed many weddings, couples and families in the Manchester area so I decided to write a series about my favourite locations for a photo shoot in Manchester and around Manchester. Today 3 location in the city centre of Manchester, 2 under roof perfect for rainy days and one outside. 1.The John Rylands Library 150 Deansgate, Manchester M3 3EH One of the most spectacular places in Manchester. The John Rylands Library is a late-Victorian neo-Gothic building that today is part of the University of Manchester Library. While plenty comes here to research and study their historic collection, it's worth a visit and takes some pictures for the amazing architecture of the library. 2. Manchester Town Hall Town Hall, Manchester M60 2LA To walk its interior or just sit in Albert Square and view it or walk around its exterior, the experience is breathtaking. Manchester's impressive gothic town hall and political home, on Albert Square, was designed by architect Alfred Waterhouse and opened in 1877. The building's Great Hall features murals by pre-Raphaelite master Ford Madox Brown and the town hall interior has regularly been used by film-makers as a replica for the inside of the Houses of Parliament. Manchester Town Hall is as well a very popular place for weddings. 3. Manchester University village Situated in the city centre, a perfect place for a photo shoot with a combination of beautiful old and modern architecture. Worth to visit Manchester Museum and Whitworth Gallery If you decided to visit Manchester and you are looking for someone to show you a city and take great candid photos of you along the way, please contact me.
- Janine & Scott wedding at Etrop Grange Hotel in Manchester
Janine & Scott said their vows at Etrop Grange Hotel. That was the beginning of something new. Together. They hosted a stunning wedding filled with love, laughter, and happiness. Thank you for the honour of being your wedding photographer. Much Appreciation and Love...M :) I wanted to share a handful of images from their big day and tell a bit more about their special day. In Janine & Scott's own words, here is their story, so take a look below, and enjoy... How did you meet? We met 12 years ago whilst out with friends and family in a Manchester city centre bar, danced through the night and exchanged numbers, after a week we started speaking to each other daily on the telephone as we lived in different cities at the time, and it was clear that we had strong feelings for each other as the calls progressed. Tell me more about your engagement, when and how this happened? We have been on a journey in our relationship for many years, these years have brought joy and sadness however our love for each other has never faded. It could be said that the love we had for each other had at times made the journey harder however it is through this journey that our love has found strength and security. We realised that we could not live without each other and wanted to make a commitment to each other for the rest of our lives. We planned our special day from that conversation. How long did you plan your wedding? We married a year from engagement, going to a wedding fair at the venue we eventually married in, the venue was decided on very quickly and we had most of the wedding planning and arrangements decided on with 4 months of setting a date. What made you choose your wedding venue? We went and visited several venues across Manchester and Salford, Etrop Grange stood out from arrival, it was exactly what we were looking for with the idea of a twilight wedding which included all the elements wanted for our wedding. The staff were really approachable and incredibly accommodating to our wishes, when we visited for a wedding fair the quality of the décor, food and atmosphere was perfect. What was your favourite part of your wedding day? Janine's favourite part of the wedding was standing at the back of the room looking down the isle and seeing my face smiling, waiting for her. Scott's favourite was looking into each others eyes and exchanging our vows to each other during the wedding blessing ceremony. Would you like to say a special thank you to somebody who helps you make your wedding day perfect? Scott – My best man Dave who also blessed the wedding, without his friendship and support the day would not have been the same. Janine – A special thank you to my bridesmaid/sister Vicky and my friend Hannah for keeping me calm, making me laugh during the morning and run up to the ceremony. A special thank you to my parents for all their support.

Emma & Stephen said their vows at Our Lady Of Dolours Church. That was the beginning of something new. Together. They hosted a stunning wedding filled with love, laughter, and happiness at The Stables Country Club in Bury. Thank you for the honour of being your wedding photographer. We got some drinks and some food and we got on straight away. Tell me more about your engagement, when and how this happened? So we got engaged on Christmas Day 2016. We both came downstairs and starting opening the presents under the tree. One of the first presents I opened was a photobook that Ste had made for me. It was called 'The story so far'. It included pictures from our early dates and our first holidays and special dates and moments together. As I got near to the end of the book, it said, "Next chapter (turn over...)". On the next page it said, "I have an important question to ask...". When I looked up, Ste was down on his knee holding a beautiful engagement ring. I said yes straight away. How long did you plan your wedding? We started planning quite quickly after getting engaged. We got the venue, car, band and photographer sorted within the next few months then had a break for a while, as we bought a house so that took up a lot of our time. What made you choose your wedding venue? We looked around a few different venues but The Stables Country Club won as it was nearby and it had the barn/ rustic feel that we wanted. However, the main reason that we chose it was because of the grounds. We thought they were beautiful and we knew they'd look good in our pictures, as well as having a nice outdoor space that the guests could use. What was your favourite part of your wedding day? We couldn't choose, we loved the whole day! The highlights were probably the wedding ceremony, driving to the venue in the wedding car, the speeches and dancing the night away with the band. A couple weeks ago I met up with Becci and Neale at Dunham Massey, one of my favourite places, for their pre-wedding shoot. One of the main aspects of a pre-wedding shoot is helping couples understand that there aren't any set rules when it comes to how they are and interact when having their photo taken. You can't really get it wrong! The key is learning to be comfortable enough to be yourselves whilst being photographed, then the unique and genuine nature of your relationship will shine through. It was a pleasure to spend time with such a lovely couple. We had great fun, and ended up with some lovely photos. I'll leave you with a selection of moments from their shoot.
